My research project
Thank you for visiting my blog. I would like to begin by explaining how I came about my research topic. The Immersion program that I was a personal participant of has always been very important to me. I was reading an article by Holm & Arviso which mentioned the first Navajo Immersion students of 1986. The article mentioned there were no direct information on the first group that went through the Immersion program.
Excitedly, I thought "I was apart of that group." I then began to ponder over the idea of finding and contacting the first cohort Immersion group and get their views, thoughts and perspectives about learning the Navajo language and the influences the program has had on their lives. So, I began my journey.
Through the study; I would like to find out how their participation in the program and their learning through the Navajo language has impacted or has had direct effect upon their lives. More importantly, what are their overall viewpoints on the continuation of the Dine Bizaad (Navajo language)?
It is going to be an exciting journey.

This is great! Have you read the dissertation of Dr. Tiffany Lee on Navajo language? She is a friend of mine from Stanford. Take care!
